Here are some photos from skiing at Fernie, Cypress, Lake Louise in Feb-March 2012, taken on my BB.

Skiing Lake Louise with Dave D

Full size
Dave D was a little scared of traversing around the top of Paradise chair at Lake Louise. However, he loved it and we found
excellent snow to ski down this face.

Full size
Some of the chutes off the back side of Lake Louise. Another great day in the Rockies.

Hockey game with my mom

Full size
It was Retro Night so our skaters wore 80s exercise suits and they did Disco Inferno for the goal song instead of Barbara Streisand.

Full size
My mom had her first pocket dog at this game. She also wore Natalia's massive down jacket.

In Calgary hanging out

Full size
Jeanna and Natalia are trying on the mid-weight down jackets they bought from MEC. Very nice ladies!

Full size
My sister Renee went back in for another round of eye surgery. She stayed with us during her convalescence.

Full size
As we get closer to playoffs, the Flames organization sends a giant flag around the rink. This was the first time I actually touched it since
the last playoff run.

Full size
I took my friend Rene to a Flames game and he also had his first pocket dog.

Partying and skiing at Fernie March 2012

The 3rd and last ski trip of the year that I organized brought some different partiers into the mix.
Natalia's brother Eric and his gf Adrienne, along with Natalia's sister Maria, her bf Julio and his friend Ricardo
joined me, Nati, Jeanna, Louis, Jenn, Lindsey, Rene, Rocky for a kick at Fernie. It was another epic trip.

Full size
I really like this picture of Rene. It shows what our plans were for our weekend in Fernie.

Full size
A great photo of Lindsey. She's working on her taco and not appreciating my photo-taking.

Full size
Jenn's got a bit of a dirty taco here as it's slopping all over the place. That's part of my head there.

Full size
Natalia's brother Eric pulled out the vodka pickle shots. Yum yum! Rene isn't a fan however.

Full size
One of my favourite games involves the infamous 'boxhead'. I love it.

Full size
Rene and Rocky are getting ready for another great day of skiing. The visibility was good and we were ready for fresh snow.

Full size
Here is Rene working on using what we taught him.

Full size
Rene traveled light so he only brought his ski boots from Waterloo. I had spare skis but I must have thrown out my old poles.
So, that's why he looks like a 5 year old learning to ski. The setup for snowplow is all him though.

Full size
Here is Julio and his buddy Ricardo, who ust moved to Canada from Cuba 2 weeks ago.

Full size
Not a terrible view looking out from Cedar Bowl and into the Elk valley.

Full size
A nice shot of Julio looking out from the inside of Cedar Bowl too.

Full size
This sign made me laugh since Jeanna and Natalia were hunting for Hot Chocolate and we were going to the
Lost Boys Cafe. What do you know? They're in the same direction!

Full size
I took Rocky and Rene into a short chute called 'Crotch'. Here is Rocky edging his way in.

Full size
Here is Rocky getting a few turns in rather than side slipping.

Full size
Rene was not terribly sure that I wasn't trying to kill him.

Full size
Here is Rene getting some turns underneath the Crotch chute. Or maybe he's putting his skis back on...

Full size
The last day of our ski trip, we woke up to gorgeous sunshine. I'm really upset I didn't take a photo of
the Polar Peak as Rocky and I got first tracks coming down the Polar Chutes. Next time I guess.

Full size
After our first tracks on Polar, I showed Rocky the entrance at Corner Pocket, which I think is pretty neat. It's so steep that it doesn't
really hold snow so they throw tires down in order to keep snow on the slope. Another great trip for all involved! Thanks team!

Skiing up at Cypress Mountain, March 2012

Full size
I live such a charmed life. I just skied at Fernie this weekend and found myself in Vancouver for business and decided to skip
the gym and just get an evening of night skiing in instead. This was the view from the top of the Sky Chair on Mount Strachan.

Full size
This is the view looking back into downtown Vancouver. Seriously, 1700 vertical feet at 30 minutes from the city.

Full size
With the recent time change and the later March timing, 'night skiing' seems a lot more like late afternoon skiing.

Full size
Kurt happened to be in town for work as well so we had a 'safety meeting' at Cypress. Look at the view out to the Pacific Ocean
from the top of the Sky Chair.

Full size
Yeah, this doesn't suck at all.

Full size
If you crop me out of this picture, Kurt looks like a rock star.

Full size
Kurt and I are enjoying the view and a great evening of skiing at Cypress.

Full size
The view with the sun setting over the ocean.
