These are some photos from fun in the wintertime in Alberta.

Natalia and I got our first day at Sunshine in December. The snow wasn't amazing, but it is December
after all.

Full size
We got a massive snow dump in town and so Natalia and I thought it would be fun to ski in the
park by my house.

Full size
Here is Natalia using her downhill skis to come back down to the house.

Full size
We then decided to make a snow man in my front yard with all of the snow.

unless the solar panel is covered with snow...

Baking party with Erin and Chad

Full size
Erin and Chad came over on a cold Sunday to bake and make Christmas goodies. Here is Erin
mixing her dough.

Full size
Chad, waiving their silicone rolling pins.

Full size
Erin and Chad made sugar cookies with cream cheese. They also did a wonderful job in decorating
as can be seen with these lovely stars and Christmas trees.

Full size
My friend Avie Meadows brought this apron back from Italy. I think Erin looks funny in it. I told
her to stop pointing it at me.

Full size
Natalia and I made muddled apple cider. Chad's giving it the thumbs up here.

Full size
I needed Natalia's hair dryer in order to operate my BBQ. It still didn't really work so we wound
up having a BBQ in my oven instead.

Full size
I think Chad called these "snuffles" or something else like that.

Full size
Natalia made these lovely cream cheese snow men that turned out beautifully.

Full size
Here are her raisin and molasses gems.

These are pecan chocolate squares which tasted like pecan pie but with chocolate chunks.

Gingerbread house contest 2008

Full size
I had so much fun last year making gingerbread with Jeanna and Kelly that I decided to do it again.
This year we had Erin and Chad over along with my cousin Leanna (and Teddy) and Natalia's sister Susanna.
Here Susie and Leanne get started on their house construction.

Full size
Erin and Chad enjoying their royal icing.

Full size
Chad, in a great pink shirt. Notice that it matches their gingerbread house window.

Full size
It's no secret that I don't really like most animals. In specific, I really don't like dogs in the house.
Leanne's dog Teddy is the exception. Teddy is quiet, well-behaved, and doesn't have accidents. Notice
Teddy's Santa jacket.

Here Susie shows off her completed project.

Here Natalia puts the finishing touches on our Hawaiian gingerbread house.

Full size
You can see the thatched roof and snowmen on towels. The coconut palm trees were my favourite,
although the blue whales in the ocean are pretty cool too.

We then proceeded to take photos of the group and our creations.

I think we're supposed to be eating the gingerbread in this shot.

Christmas presents

Full size
Since Natalia celebrated Christmas this year in Saskatoon and I in Calgary, we had our gift exchange
before she left. Here she is opening her "small" presents.

Full size
This is when she realized that the felt was covering a Starbucks card.

Full size
This is when she realized she got a Costco membership.

Full size
I was guessing a smarmy sweater, but instead it was fleecy Flames pants.
