Here are some photos from our New Year's visit with our friends in Portland, OR.

After a fiasco in Vancouver airport (I love US customs and border patrol), we made it to Portland
to visit our friends there. We immediately drove down to Corvallis to see Jason and Avie since we
hadn't seen their new house yet. Here is their super cute toddler - Porter - running around the front
yard.

We went to a park close to their house to feed some ducks and let Porter run around. That's actually
Jason with the pony tail...

Porter had a blast feeding bread to the ducks and to the occasional giant goose.

This goose was ridiculously large and really tame as well. It would be standing right next to me
waiting for me to give it some bread. It was so tame, I could kick it and it wouldn't even move.
Of course to the SPCA'ers out there, I DIDN'T kick it, but I COULD have.

sweater that Natalia got him.

We went for a walk around their neighbourhood in the evening and Avie pointed out the mouse house.
One of their neighbours cut out a hole in the bottom of a tree and they decorate it like a mini
house. This is the inside of the house and you can see a chair in there.

Here you see the chair, table, and fireplace, complete with Christmas stockings. Yeah, it's
pretty cool.

Natalia and I stopped at the Woodburn outlets to shop around. We found the same rooster that Allison
found. Much to my dismay, Natalia thought a 4 foot tall rooster was not an acceptable host gift
for the Dehaans. Maybe next time.

We did some more baby visiting and stopped in to see Jeff and Lisa and their baby Zane. He looks
so mischievous in this photo.

Full size
Continuing the baby theme, we stopped to see the Gormans and their baby Max. This is at a sweet
BBQ place near Chris' work in NE Portland. Max is so quiet, he just rolled over at the restaurant
and fell asleep on Chris while Keri was sitting there too.

This is a sweet piece of graffiti near the breakfast place I met the Diskos at. It made me laugh.

Natalia took this photo of me at the Vancouver airport on the day Canada lost to the US in the World
Junior finals in Saskatoon, SK. I think wooden cut-outs are really funny.
