Here are some photos of Maria's birthday, Calgary Stampede,
Meghans' Wedding, and climbing at Heart Creek

Maria's birthday

Full size
Here's Maria with her birthday cake, having just returned from Cuba.

Full size
Maria with her present on her birthday morning. We wound up having Tai Thai for lunch and then
sending Maria back courtesy of the relaxed elegance that is the Red Arrow.

Calgary Stampede

Full size
Natalia made ice cream sandwiches with brownies and her cowboy ice cream sandwich makers for Stampede!
What a trooper!

Full size
I really like this photo of Susanna wearing Natalia's hat. We're enroute to my first
Stampede Parade, so we were pretty excited.

Full size
Susanna and her friend Alexa are rocking their coffee cups as we wait for the parade to come by.

Full size
Alexa gives the singers two thumbs up.

Full size
Alexa along with Balzac Bill. When she saw his name, she said, "That's unfortunate."

Full size
Here's a good photo of why I think Alexa called this 'unfortunate'.

Full size
Alexa, Susanna, and Jeanna Berg at the Stampede parade. Yeehaw cowgirls!

Full size
We thought this group was funny. They were the last of the "warm-up acts" prior to the actual
parade. I would be upset if the parade people told me, "Well, you're not good enough for the
actual parade but we think you're dorky enough to be a warm-up act."

Full size
A float from the city of Kimberley, BC, one of my favourites.

Full size
Even the street sweepers get dressed up for Stampede. In between the horse riders, these guys
make the occasional pass to keep the streets clean.

Full size
This guy from CP made me laugh and think of my friend Heather.

Full size
Here are the ladies trying to stay out of the sun.

Full size
The Flames got in on the parade action too.

Full size
The armed forces showed up with their toys. They were doing donuts on the street.

Full size
Here's yours truly with a marching band.

Full size
Jeanna with the Shriners' little toy planes. She thinks they're awesome.

Full size
Even though Natalia couldn't eat a sundae, she thought it incredibly important that we have
really good sundaes. What a sport!

Full size
We took Susanna to the hot springs in Banff.

Meghan's wedding in Edmonton

Full size
I sure am glad that no one paid me to photograph this wedding. My photos are terrible.
Here's the groom (Bud) waiting for his bride.

Full size
Here's a fuzzy photo of Natalia walking down the aisle.

Full size
Natalia coming down the aisle.

Full size
Annie Young made the trip down from Whitehorse for the wedding as well.

Full size
All the ladies in the pew behind me couldn't stop saying how beautiful Meghan looked.

Full size
Meghan and Bud at the altar.

Full size
Exchanging vows.

Full size
And running out the door! Bud's shoes were fantastic and seemed quite comfortable too.

Full size
Annie and her escort.

Full size
My wife and her escort. She didn't seem to put up a fight that he has a moustache and beard...
Maybe I need to wear a suit more often. Sorry about the poor quality of these photos. I think
my light levels were way off.

Full size
Bud and Meghan cutting cake.

Full size
...and then the mandatory feeding to each other.

Full size
The cake - a photo for Nati.

Full size
Just about all of the wedding party.

Full size
Bud and Meghan dancing.

Full size
Natalia and her friend Rebecca along withe Rebecca's newest child.

Full size
Rebecca, Meghan, Natalia, and baby.

Full size
So you can actually see the dress as well.

Climbing with Scott Paterson

Full size
Scott and I caught an afternoon of cragging at Heart Creek. Here's Scott making faces.

Full size
The view from Heart.

Full size
The view down from a 5.10c I think.
