Some fun spring hiking photos with Crazy Carl

Going up Pigeon Mountain with Carl

Full size
I tried to do an artful shot with the gorgeous crocuses in the foreground and
Mount Lougheed in the clouds.

Carl with Mount Lougheed behind him.

Full size
Something like 30 sheep with about 20 babies hanging out on the grass bench below
the second summit of Pigeon.

Full size
Looking at Mt McGillivray and the rock wall that has stumped my friend Dan so far. We will
conquer this baby.

Abbotsford

Full size
We had the pleasure of a hike with my friend Tess. Check out these cool rock formations!
It's too bad it's only conglomerate since it would be cool climbing, but it's cool to look
at and the eagles love it.

Full size
We stayed for an amazing steak dinner with Tess' nanny. I think the look on Tess' nanny's
face is hilarious.

Invermere Chiefs Weekend

Full size
Once again Pat hosted us at his sweet pad in Invermere. Here is about the lowest quality poker
game I've ever been a part of, but also one of the most fun.

Full size
Dan also thinks the poker is poor quality.

Full size
Jeff won the coveted jacket this year with his excellent golf round of an 86 at Copper Point.

Full size
Poker game #2.

Full size
We once again put some miles in during the trip, making the bike ride up to Panorama. This is the view
into the Purcells after we crested the toughest hill of the trip.

Full size
Don and Mike at the top of our ride.

Full size
Mike and I calling this a good ride. It took us only about 45 minutes to get home.

Mt Baldy scramble

Full size
Carl and I took one of the last time windows we have until mid-July to get a few metres of elevation
into our day. The hike is Mt Baldy, but this look is down at Barrier Lake with Prairie View Viewpoint
above Carl.

Full size
Carl loves it when he can put his sticks away and use his hands on the rocks.

Full size
Looking down at the Kananaskis Valley. The crazy thing is that it takes less than an hour to
get to this point from your car. No wonder this route is popular.

Full size
Carl is a big fan of scrambling and this kind of exposure makes him very happy.

Full size
OK, check out the Lazyboy someone made. How cool is that? This is at the Gend'Arme point on the route.

Full size
The best part of this picture is the fact that Carl has his helmet (mine actually) on backwards.

Full size
There was a bit of snow that had come down in the last few days. This is looking to the south from the
col just before the summit.

Full size
After a quick bite on the north summit, we wandered over to the south summit where this cool
cairn lives.

Full size
Then we wandered up to the West Summit to call it a day.
