Here are some photos from our visit to central California. Note that after 5 days in Oakland
we didn't take any photos... Los Gatos and Yosemite though have a few shots here.

Full size
One of the first stops in Los Gatos was to watch Justin's T-ball game. He's the little gentleman in the
incredibly bright green shoes.

Full size
Henry and Natalia enjoyed watching the T-ball game from their lawn chairs.

Full size
Henry's a cute little dude.

Full size
Natalia took the opportunity to file down Henry's toenails while he enjoyed his sunglasses.

Full size
Keira had her hair curled for her dance recitals. Here she is with her dad and her brother.

Full size
One of the main reasons we went down to California was to visit with Kirk and Jen. Since it was Mother's
Day weekend, Kirk and I made breakfast for the ladies two days straight. This was California Eggs Benedict
and it turned out great!

Our family (although with water on the lens).

Full size
This picture is to prove that I can actually relax in the sunshine and drink beer.

Full size
Here's Henry enjoying some sunshine.

Full size
Henry's shades were big hits in Cali.

Full size
It turns out that 2 hours in the sunshine in the pool manages to crisp up the skin.

Yosemite National Park, CA

Full size
Natalia and I decided to not spend the weekend in Oakland where my work function was. Instead we drove to
Yosemite and after a long drive, wound our way to the Wawona Hotel. They have gorgeous verandas around all of their
buildings and here's Henry enjoying the veranda at the main building. The look on his face is dynamite.

Full size
This was the building we stayed in. I think this is a smaller sequoia tree in front of our building.

Full size
The main lodge in the morning is quite nice and we enjoyed our stay. It's too bad they're so booked up
or we would have stayed another night.

Full size
This was a little bird who was trying to eat Natalia's croissant while we waited for breakfast. His lower
feathers puffed up and he looks really cute when he was waiting for us to go. Natalia thinks this is a
stellar's jay but his beak was weird.

Full size
Here's our family at the Wawona Hotel before heading out hiking for the day.

Full size
From the Wawona, it's about a ~30 mile drive to the valley. 30 miles of windy roads and fun driving (or
enough to make Natalia sick). This is the view from the tunnel into the valley.

Henry and I looking at El Capitan and the Bridalveil Falls, with Half Dome in the distance.

Full size
Natalia liked the portrait photo since Henry was actually looking at the camera.

Henry and his mom hanging out at the viewpoint.

Full size
This might be one of my new favourite photos of Henry.

Full size
This one's pretty good too though.

Video of Henry at Yosemite Valley

Full size
I can't look at this photo and not think of two things - rock climbing and poop tubes.

Full size
Bridalveil Falls was pretty nice too.

Henry and I along the banks of the Merced River.

Full size
We did a short hike up to Vernal Falls (or at least the footbridge). It turns out that lugging a full
stroller with a diaper bag, and a bunch of other stuff up ~400 vertical feet is a bit of an effort,
even if it is paved.

Full size
Natalia and Henry on the other side of the footbridge.

Full size
Henry was the cool kid in the stroller on this trip.

Full size
Henry and I and Yosemite Falls.

Full size
Our last stop before leaving the park was to see some of the giant Sequoia trees. They're pretty massive!
This is the Mariposa Grove at the south entrance of Yosemite Park.

Full size
Since I couldn't get us a room at the Wawona for a 2nd night, I booked us in at the Comfort Inn in Oakhurst.
It turns out that the town has a bit of a drug problem. Check out this sign outside of the Dirty Donkey Tavern.
And yes, I love the name of that tavern.

Full size
Natalia ordered Chinese from across the street and I picked up a couple of beers from the Valero gas station.
Natalia is drinking a Lime-a-Rita. Yes, that's right.

Full size
We were able to have a short visit with our friends Mickey and Carl until Henry melted down. Then we had a coffee
with Alex right near the airport on the way home.

Full size
It turns out that Henry likes to play with the security cards in the plane seatbacks.

Full size
Here he is, not sleeping on the plane, but enjoying his headphones.
