Hanging out with the boys in December in Cochrane.

First a video of Walter working on reading - it makes my heart smile

Full size
I took Walter for an afternoon of skiing at Nakiska one day in December. He LOVES it and can't
understand why I won't let him go on the big lift yet.

Walter hasn't quite figured out how to turn, but he's pretty stable

Full size
I tried to take Henry skiing as well and promptly left his skis at home. So, instead, we went for a
walk at Lorette Ponds.

Full size
Check out the size of these surface hoar crystals.

Henry wanted a picture of the map of the area so he could draw one for comparison.

The boys climbing on our wall

Full size
We took the boys bowling just before the lockdown hit. Walter thought it was terrific. I think it's
funny that they have little kids shoes.

This was the last drink Natalia and I had in public prior to our second lockdown.

Full size
We've started playing Bingo in the evenings and both boys seem to enjoy it.

Full size
The boys were less interested in eating gingerbread men, and more interested in eating icing and
candies.

Full size
Walter's gingerbread men were mostly icing.

Full size
Walter equally enjoyed the use of the icing bag into his mouth.

Full size
More icing please!

Henry's 7th birthday

Full size
Natalia had told Henry he could have a proper birthday party on his 7th birthday. Then the pandemic
happened so we weren't able to have anyone to our house for his birthday.

Full size
The biggest piece of ice cream cake Henry's ever eaten.

Full size
Walter also quite enjoyed the ice cream cake.

Full size
He was pretty jazzed to open a '16+' Lego set.

Full size
Henry decided he wanted A&W for his birthday dinner.

Full size
Natalia's godparents got Henry a Harry Potter Lego set that he was quite excited about.

Full size
We took the day to go skating at Mitford Pond. You can see Walter loving his new hockey stick.

Crazy Carl's sasquatch has been prepared for COVID times.

Full size
We decided that with three larger Lego sets that Henry needed his own space to work and, more
importantly, to not be interrupted by his brother. So, he's set up in the spare room and is using
the piano to sort his Lego pieces. This set is Harry Potter set.

Full size
We went for a bike ride to do some power testing and ran into Henry's friend Gracie at the park.

Full size
Playing Bingo with the boys. Walter insists on turning the Bingo bin.

Walter has started to do 'repair' work on Natalia and I. I think he thinks he's
an orthopedic surgeon and he uses his tools to fix our legs. See him diagnosing
and 'fixing' Natalia

Full size
Henry with his completed Harry Potter Lego kit - the Astronomy Tower - thanks to Rick and
Janet for this sweet set!

Full size
I had taken the previous photo to send to Janet and Walter insisted that he wanted to take
a picture for Janet too - "See my smile Daddy!"

Full size
Starting on the Apollo 11 Lunar Lander set. Again, note the piano used as a sorting mechanism.

Full size
He completed the first few bags pretty quickly and started work on the lander itself.

Full size
Just before Christmas we got one of the bigger snowfalls that I remember in quite some time.
It basically shut most of the province down for a few days to clean up.

Full size
About 45 cm came down in just inside 12 hours.

Full size
This is the 'engine' of the lunar module.

Full size
And totally complete Lunar Module. Nice work Henry at the tender age of 7 years and 10 days.
