It was Natalia's family's turn for Christmas this year and we hosted at our home.
Here are some photos and video from our Christmas party.

Skiing at Nakiska

Full size
We decided to take the ladies skiing at Nakiska. Here are Susi and Lulu getting their helmets and
skis sized. Don't they look great (or dorky)?

Full size
Even though the day was cold, the light was spectacular. Here is Natalia with part of the mountains
of Kananaskis being lit up.

Full size
Here is Lulu trying out skiing for the first time.

Full size
Susi had also never skied before and so here she is trying out her first turns too.

Here is Natalia trying to keep her face from freezing with a gorgeous view behind her.

The ladies are all having some chili at our lunch stop inside the lodge. With baked bean waiting
on the stove, this day was going to have some fire!

4 of the 6 Lynn sisters enjoying a day of alpine skiing. From left to right is Natalia, Maria,
Elizaveta, and Susanna. Missing are Donni and Sarah. Maybe in two years?

Full size
Since Elizaveta had been up all night cleaning, then hopped a plane, and we then took her immediately
to Kananaskis, she was pretty bagged by the time we drove home.

A lot of food party photos

Full size
Natalia decided to make the 12 meatless dishes for Christmas this year. Here is Susanna helping Natalia
roll out the dough for the cherry dessert dish.

Full size
Natalia and Susanna roll out the dough for the kolach (braided bread). Susanna was most helpful in
preparing for and cleaning up many meals.

Elizaveta has her Christmas dress on as we celebrate the 12 meatless dishes at our Christmas eve
celebration.

Full size
Natalia is reheating the borscht that she had made a few days earlier.

Full size
Natalia's brother Eric and sister Donni also joined for our Christmas celebration. Here are the
(almost) full contingent of Lynn siblings (without Sarah) along with Adrienne and Karl as well.

Full size
I took some photos of the dishes as well. This is the kutia, a wheat and poppy seed dish I really like.

Full size
This is the kolach. Notice that I even allowed candles since it was a special day.

Full size
I'm feeling pretty happy in this photo since I had just eaten kutia. Karl also clearly enjoys the
kutia judging by the way he's eating with gusto.

Full size
Yummy kolach bread!

Full size
Here is the borscht dish with fresh dill.

Full size
I tried to capture all of the dishes here. From bottom left, a baked salmon, perogies, Natalia's
mushroom cream dill sauce, cabbage rolls, borscht, cherry desserts, fruit salad, buckwheat dish,
a tomato fish bake, and pickled vegetables. Along with kolach and kutia, that's 12 folks!

A better view of Natalia's pickled plates and other dishes.

My first big plate I filled up.

Full size
We took a Christmas photo by the tree. Other than Karl being stuck at the back, the timed photo
turned out pretty well.

Full size
We also took a goofy family photo as well, for posterity's sake.

Full size
Natalia kept a pretty full treat table going pretty much all through Christmas. Note the extreme
number and variety of treats on offer here.

Full size
A little better photo of the treat table during an afternoon snack break as we opened presents.

Full size
This is showing some of the presents under the tree.

Full size
Karl is reading one of the books he received, a book from Maria on the marine life near the water's edge.

Full size
Elizaveta, Eric, Adrienne, Maria, and Carl hanging out before opening presents.

Full size
We took a tour out to Cochrane on 'Christmas day' (actually Natalia's birthday). Here is Donni
standing on our lot with the steps installed. Note the nice view.

Full size
Karl, Lulu, and Natalia on our steps as I look up from our eventual walkout basement.

Full size
Natalia and some products from her birthday (from my mom).

Full size
For Natalia's birthday, we made a turkey to go along with all of our terrific leftovers. Yummy!

Full size
After last year's epic fail at finding an ice cream cake in Prince Albert, I had this one ordered for
quite some time. Here's Natalia loving her Skor blizzard cake.
