After our Christmas celebrations, we retired to the wonderful ski resort of
Revelstoke, BC with the Brown brothers and Jeanna

Jeanna outdid me again for Natalia's birthday by making chocolate gluten-free cupcakes and carting
them all the way to Revelstoke. Nice work JB!

Ski touring up McGill Shoulder at Roger's Pass

Full size
Louis, Rowley, and I wanted to spend some more time in the Roger's Pass area since there wasn't any
fresh snow forecast at Revy. Here are the boys getting ready to skin up at the Bostock parking area.

Full size
After an hour of skiing up the trail, and an hour of thrashing through some heinous trees, we finally
made our way to the bottom of the avalanche paths on McGill shoulder. The two left lines are only
skied in bomber conditions. We skied looker's left of the gun barrel chutes.

Louis found us a great B and B in Revelstoke where the proprietor (Louise) actually made us dinner
for Old Year's Eve. A great salmon, sweet potatoes, carrots, salad, and wine made for a great dinner!
Thanks Louise! Check out the Revelstoke B and B Retreat if you want to stay with her.

Our last day at Revelstoke had amazing clear skies from the top of the Stoke chair.
Here are Jeanna and Louis enjoying the view.

Rowley thought the view was pretty spectacular as well.

Louis got a new camera and used it a bunch to snap some great shots of our weekend together.

Even though we had a bit of a relaxed start, we still got a really solid day of touring. Louis is glad here
that we didn't do another lap.

I think Rowley managed to lose about 15 pounds of sweat as he dragged those huge Gotamas up the mountain.
He looks like he's still having fun though.

Louis is playing with his optics here. It's a neat shot with the trees in the foreground.

After thrashing our way up the face of this run, we finally made our way to the shoulder and got a few cool views.
One view is of Rowley working the kick turn and of me laying down the uptrack.

Our last day we had unreal visibility from the top of the Stoke, even though the valley bottom was totally overcast.
Check out the beautiful blue sky here.
