Some photos and video of hanging with the kids in June 2020

Full size
I've been splitting my work day up a bit in order to give Natalia the break from the kids she usually gets
from child minding at the gym or something else. That means I get to take the boys to do something fun
in the middle of the day when they still have positive energy and when it's sunny out. On this day
we took a bike/hike into the ravine and did some exploring.

Full size
We explored down below the houses and found a few wildflowers. Of course Walter's favourites are still
dandelions though.

Full size
We found this teepee down in the lower ravine that the boys thought was pretty cool.

The boys wanted me to come in too.

Full size
Grayson and Walter pretty happy to be playing together again.

Full size
We finally broke the isolation and brought the kids to Red Deer. Of course Henry and Walter were thrilled
to spend time with their cousins.

And crushing the ice cream cake together.

Full size
Natalia commented that this image in one of the boys' books is no longer 'COVID-PC'.

Full size
I took the boys to the skate park since I thought they may enjoy riding their bikes on some
of the smaller features. Oh yeah, this was a hit.

Video Henry sent to his teacher

Full size
The boys back crushing the skate park, although this time much earlier in the morning to avoid the
big kids and their swear words.

Video of Walter checking out the ramps

Full size
This is a pretty happy little Walter crushing it on the concrete ramps. I'd say he was constantly seconds
away from his first concussion but he was really happy to be doing it.

Video of Walter trying the steeper side on the strider

The boys have pretty full days of fun.

Full size
Thanks to Grandma G these boys got water guns. Here they are trying them out on my car.

Full size
Roast beef, Yorkies, and potatoes I made on the BBQ for my Mom, along with a delicious
spinach salad to boot.

Natalia and my Mom wanted to see Walter on a real bike

Full size
Walter and Grandma G. Both our boys just love their Grandma G and they were thrilled to
get to spend time with her after a long isolation.

Henry and his godmother Grandma G playing Pink Panther.

Full size
Grandma G gave the boys 5 dollars if they sat nicely to have their hair cut.

Full size
Walter trying again on the pedal bike, this time with the helper.

Full size
The boys in their barn and corral we made with sticks and balls.

Full size
We actually found a playground we hadn't visited yet in Bow Meadows and the boys found a mini library.
So, of course, they had to sample the wares.

Full size
Henry showing me his tongue as he's pushing Walter at Mach chicken down the street.

Full size
We went for a DQ run and the boys got cotton candy dipped cones. They won the lottery.

Full size
We then tried out fishing again at Mitford Pond, which the boys enjoyed, albeit briefly.

Drumheller for the day

Full size
Since Natalia wasn't keen on COVID camping, we did a day trip to Drumheller to see the Tyrrell Museum
and enjoy an outing. The splash park was NOT turned on, sadly, but we did get to stroll through a
farmer's market in town, which was basically all crafts and less treats.

Full size
Henry and a local dinosaur near the Tourist Office.

Full size
Walter and Henry and a green dinosaur. Drumheller is fun since the town itself is full of cement
painted dinosaurs so the boys love pointing them out as we drive around.

Full size
Henry posing with a cement sauropod at the Fossil Museum.

Full size
Walter posing with a big dinosaur and a bottle of hand sanitizer for use after we played in the playground here.

Full size
Inside Tyrrell, it's obviously different with the social distancing rules and the limits around certain
spaces. The boys still loved the visit, even though we had to have a timed ticket to get in.

Full size
The boys measuring up to a femur from a dinosaur. See last year's photo to see how much they've grown.

Full size
Natalia, Henry, and Walter with a big T rex skeleton.

Full size
While I was explaining the fossilization process to Henry (or the other way around), Walter was
frantically 'writing notes' which meant him using his pencil to doodle in his 'Fun Book'.

Full size
Henry and Walter and I with 'Black Beauty'. Note Walter going bananas with 'taking notes'.

Video of Walter doing 'flips' as he says it

Full size
Walter picked out rock candy and a watch from the gift shop.

Full size
Henry got rock candy and a box of gemstones. He later set them up as his 'museum exhibit' in his room.

Full size
Walter happy as a clam to be crushing rock candy. He was alternately taking licks and running up and
down the recently-opened playground at the museum.

Full size
We took a drive to Horsethief Canyon, which the boys mostly enjoyed for chasing gophers around.

Full size
Natalia and Walter looking down to the Red Deer River valley.

Full size
We then took the Bleriot cable ferry to start making our way home. Note their method for counting
cars on the ferry.

Full size

Full size
Henry has really started posing in photos of late.
