Enroute to Europe, I had some business in Toronto and Ottawa, so I decided to overnight on a Friday in Ottawa
so that I could spend some time with Jason Leuschen and his fiancee Rebekah.

Typical of my travels solo, I got upgraded to a sweet room at the Westin Ottawa with this beautiful view of
Parliament. This seldom happens when I'd like it to - like when Natalia is with me! In either case, after
a fun night with Leusch and my friend Jay Mutter in the Market, we decided to have a touring day.

The first stop on our tour was to visit a winery recommended by my friend Robin Speer, who used to live
in Ottawa. This winery has the same last name as us so I wanted to see what the story was.

Here is Jason, Rebekah's brother and wife, along with the taster from the winery telling us all about their
wine and their small property in Navan, Ontario.

I met the owner of the winery - named the same as my brother - Denis Perrault. He was a really jovial man
and told us all about his winery and how he grew it. He also gave my dad a bottle of ice wine since we're
somehow related. How nice!

Some of the grapes on the Perrault property. He had the vines covered since the birds really like them at this
time of production.

Our next stop was the St Albert cheese factory in St Albert, Ontario. We saw this sweet little car in
the parking lot and I wanted a photo with it.

A cool photo of the chrome for my wife.

I think I ate my body weight in cheese curds on this visit. I ate both the whole bag of these curds as WELL
as a tray of poutine. Excellent lunch Paul!

Our final stop was at Beau's Brewery. This was an excellent idea as well as this is a stellar little brewery
that is very excited to be making really good beer. This is some of their production equipment.

I thought the fact that they had a tractor flag was pretty awesome.

This is the lady giving us our tour. We were allowed to directly take beer right out of the vats
behind her. I tried one dark lager that had overtones of banana, but they absolutely follow the German
beer purity laws, so that's a flavour that comes from the yeast, not from adding banana extracts.

Rebekah and I enjoyed our trip to Beau's immensely. Jason and Rebekah were so excited about the brewery
that they're now considering it as a wedding reception location (possibly!).
