Here are some photos and videos from Henry's first haircut, and then his first birthday.
I can't believe our little monster is 1!

Henry's first haircut

Full size
Natalia took Henry to Beaners for his first haircut (of course I was traveling for business...). Beaner's
looks like a fun place to take kids for haircuts as they have all kinds of toys and fun things for the little
dudes and dudettes to play with. Here's Henry with a cop car.

Full size
Here he is on a bike in the hair shop. Yes, Natalia dresses him like a dork.

Full size
How much fun is this seat?

Full size
He looks like he's having fun here.

Full size
They even have a ball pit.

Full size
She actually bought baby dippity-doo for his hair. Ridiculous. But cute.

Full size
My sister Danielle drove up from Red Deer for the day to visit with Natalia and Henry. She brought her little
monster - Mr Kale, who looks extra cute in his penguin sweater.

Henry's first birthday

Full size
While we had debated going skiing since the weather was so warm, we thought for Henry's birthday, we should do
something more for him, so we went to the Telus Spark Science Museum in Calgary. Here is Mr Birthday Boy
playing with buoyancy/gravity.

Full size
Henry enjoyed playing with the blue goo one. They rotate so that you can see how they move when presented
with gravity.

Full size
In one of the explore areas, Henry found a textured ball that he played with. He didn't seem to
care that the cubby had a place to stick balls and then have them come out somewhere else.

Full size
This is a ball version of Plinko.

Full size
As if this shirt isn't super cute!

Full size
Henry's getting quite bold with walking and holding onto things at the same time.

Full size
Here he is at a light-up table.

Full size
He's looking at his mom I think here.

Full size
Henry hasn't quite started on slides yet, but today he was feeling bold so he went at it from the bottom.
This little dude was ~10 months and got quite a kick out of Mr Henry.

Full size
"I've got this Mommy" is what he will be saying sooner than we're ready.

Full size
If I held his feet (so they wouldn't slip), he could power walk up the slide.

Full size
How happy is this baby?

Full size
A touch blurry, but here's Natalia and her 1 year old!

Full size
Here's another light-up table.

Full size
We couldn't find an 'R' so this was the closest I could do.

Full size
Henry's a big fan of magnets so he played with the magnetic half-spheres.

Full size
Here you can see his two front teeth.

Full size
Henry walking around the rolling tire area.

Video of Henry playing with tires and giggling

Full size
Natalia thought Henry would like the water tables. He might need a few more months as he mostly threw things around.

Full size
Here's our little apron-wearing science nut.

Henry playing with science

Full size
Natalia and Henry at the water table. I had actually never been to the Telus Spark Centre and we'll
definitely be back.

Full size
This piano makes bubbles and great pipe organ sounds at the same time. Henry just likes buttons and keys.

Full size
I'm not sure he'll play piano, but he'll definitely mash the keys.

Full size
This is a great exhibit.

Full size
They even have a little climbing wall that I think our little monster will enjoy at some point.

Full size
Here is Henry's first trip into space. "I got to go to the moon for my birthday!" This is in the
Theatre area where kids can control the lighting, the backdrop, and the mood lights too.

Full size
Natalia's been trying to get Henry to pose with her stickers but this last one was a bit of a fight.
She kept the monster at bay with his first aid kit for this photo.

Full size
His head totally blocked Natalia's sticker.

Full size
"Who Me? Is it my birthday??"

Full size
This one is great.

Full size
Natalia prefers this one though.

Full size
Natalia and I got Henry foam blocks for his birthday. AND they are self-contained, which is a bonus!

Full size
Thanks to his Graunty Paulette and Gruncle Dan, Henry now owns a story time box with Cars and Planes.
I'm sure he'll love this set (and again, it's self-contained!)

Full size
Someone loves cake almost as much as his mom. In fact, he may have said his first word - 'cake'
last night as he was eating it.

Full size
Yummy icing!
