Some photos and video from my forced summer vacation in late June 2020 due to COVID.
We got some canoeing, camping, and visiting Banff in along with just playing as well.

Tour to Banff

Full size
We decided to take a tour to Banff to show the kids the gondola and to get out for the day. Here's
Walter and Natalia in the gondola.

Henry and I on top of Sulphur Mountain, looking at Mt Rundle.

Full size
We saw a bighorn sheep just chilling by the terminal at the top of the mountain.

Full size
Henry thought Bow Falls was pretty cool.

Full size
Walter naturally wants to throw things into the river.

Full size
Henry on top of a rock at the Banff playground.

Full size
Henry sitting on a log at the playground, just before his concussion.

Full size
Monkey see and monkey do.

Full size
After Henry fell off the log and bonked his head, I took Walter for a tour out to Cascade Pond.
This is Walter with Cascade Mountain behind him.

Full size
Happy little Walter to be exploring without his brother.

Full size
Walter just loved throwing rocks into the pond.

Full size
More and more rocks, before the skies opened and dumped on us.

Full size
Sadly, this was Henry's afternoon as he recovered from his fall and got assessed.

Full size
Walter was jacked to get a McD's supper and hang out in Banff eating it.

Full size
Our neighbour supplied us with sourdough, which makes my omelette that much tastier!

Canada Day 2020

Full size
While Canada Day was different this year with COVID, there wasn't really a Canada Day party. But
we invited Grace and Logan to come up and we made our own party.

Full size
Our Canada Day nuts.

Full size
The kids waiting for our little parade to come by.

Full size
Our neighbours brought these chairs out for the kids.

Full size
Thanks to the Dube family for these sweet red flags. Walter is pouting here since he wants one too.

Full size
The Jeepers and a few others had a mini parade which the kids loved.

Full size
Walking back from the parade, holding hands.

Full size
Playing with water balloons in the backyard.

Full size
Throwing water balloons around is always fun.

Henry and Grace with the bubbler

Full size
This basically looks like a beer bong but backwards.

Full size
Walter playing with his new train set that he got from Grandma G for his birthday. This was the first time
that Walter had been able to get to Toys R Us since his birthday.

Full size
Walter falling asleep with Henry's headlamp on.

Full size
Walter with the sweet diarama display now at MacKay's ice cream.

Full size
Although the crosswinds just about destroyed me and the car we were driving, we went for a ride in the
canoe. This is in the quieter side of the reservoir where the Ghost river comes into the lake.

Full size
We bought Walter a new sleeping bag and he was so excited about it, he wanted to try it in the living room.

Camping at Little Elbow

Full size
Since the monsoons came in earlier in the week disrupting our plans for a lake camping trip at Gull
Lake, we made a last minute reservation for Little Elbow on the weekend but wound up with only a
walk-in tenting site (E101 for posterity). It was stellar shade and a great campsite but a bit far
from the bathrooms for Natalia's liking. With the new pop-up shelter we picked up last year,
we're now into full car-camping mode.

Full size
The suspension bridge was a huge hit with the boys.

Full size
Walter thought the cable was awesome.

Full size
Both boys with suspension bridge cable attachments.

Full size
Anywhere Walter can throw rocks into a body of water is a hit for him. That's Mt Glasgow to Walter's right.

Full size
Walter and Henry throwing rocks.

Full size
A buck just strolled by me as I was reading with the kids in the tent. Yup, just chilling.

Full size
The boys walking around the campsite in their PJs.

Full size
Henry thought the water pump (non potable) was pretty awesome.

Henry trying out the water pump while camping

Full size
Henry and Walter pumping together.

Full size
Throwing rocks into the Elbow River.

Full size
This trip was Walter's first try at smores. It turns out he prefers the marshmallows on their own
and Henry prefers the cookies alone too.

Full size
Yummy!

Full size
Twp boys with two smores.

Full size
Playing with the pump while on a bike ride.

Full size
Now biking over the suspension bridge (walking is for suckers!).

Full size
Playing in the Elbow.

Full size
Daddy cooking dinner. Check out Walter's face. Yup, he's a piece of work.

Full size
Mommy and the boys having smores with a campfire.

Full size
Henry and the pond at Beaver Lodge parking lot.

Full size
The boys with a nice pond. Walter's stomach was questionable here and we were pretty lucky to get
home with no residual damage.

Full size
This flower turns out to be a wild white geranium - not a globeflower as previously thought.

Full size
Walter riding Henry like a horse.

Me out for a bike ride with John on a sunny evening.
