Fun photos and videos of our long weekend in Cochrane in 2021.

Here are some photos of the boys at Calaway Park.

Full size
Here's Walter's most recent photo from riding the log ride at Calaway - always a classic.

The boys playing on the deck in the hail and loving it.

Walter has an amazing ability to run at Mach chicken until he doesn't. In this case, he was stopped
by our quartz countertops which put a hole into his forehead that glue was needed to seal up.

Full size
One morning I made parachutes for the boys out of napkins and paper towels which Henry then
climbed up onto the ladder to experiment with.

We took the boys for a bike tour at Glenbow Park. This was the first time we've done a family
bike trip without the Chariot. While Walter struggled to get back up the hill to the car,
and Natalia and I had to carry his bike, he did ~95% of the ride himself, which was a win.
Henry, on the other hand, did great and rode like a champ throughout the park.

Henry thought that catching grasshoppers in your helmet is a fun trick.

The next stop in the day was Calaway Park where Walter crushed some cotton candy.

Full size
Both boys (and Natalia) are happy with cotton candy.

Early Hallowe'en costumes for the boys - Harry Potter and Hedwig.

My good friend Graham showing what happens when you taco a front wheel. Too bad it's my bike.

Full size
Chipped tooth and damaged head as a result of failing to keep the rubber side down.

Full size
Unsuccessfully trying to right the wrong. It turns out that taking it off and smashing the wheel
on the ground *can* fix a lot of things, per Tim at Big Hill. It can't fix a busted helmet though.

Full size
Case in point.

Full size
A bit of head damage on my side too.

Full size
Next we took a hike to the Heart Creek bunker, which is actually dug into Mt McGillivray. Here's
Henry on the trail.

Full size
At the bunker.

Full size
It's actually quite wide and it turns out that our boys are afraid of the dark, even with two full
cell-phone flashlights going. Reminder to self to bring a crazy big lantern next time.

Full size
Heading back to the entrance after shutting off our lights and making Henry afraid.

Full size
Our next stop was a picnic dinner with Aunty Maria and John in Canmore. Here's Walter looking
through a sculpture at a park in Canmore.

Full size
A nice evening on the Bow River.

Full size
Meanwhile our boys run around and throw rocks in the water.

Full size
Or, in this case, chase after seagulls.

Labour Day Rodeo

Full size
Walter wanted to ride sheep again so I got him and his buddy Grayson accepted to ride. This is just
before the gates opened with a crazed sheep and a crazier toddler on it.

Walter earned his first belt buckle!

Full size
Henry's friend Gracie joined us and got a shaved ice, which she was jacked about.

Full size
Walter got one with a giant sour sucker in it.

Full size
Rhys got one too.

Henry and Gracie with shave ice - living life large!

Full size
Heading to the bouncy castles with shave ice and two friends, Henry is on top of the world.

Full size
I'd argue licensing the whole rodeo grounds is the top of the world too!

Full size
Walter and I watching bull riding.

Full size
The folks from Butterfield Acres brought their petting zoo and the kids liked the goats.

Full size
But they LOVED the bouncy castles!

Our family at Boulton Creek the weekend previous. Walter's pose here is priceless.

Slightly better family pose.

Rodeo Parade

Full size
Our boys are huge fans of parades since they get bags full of candy. This parade was no exception.

Full size
We chose to bike down to the parade site which was a challenge, but also meant that the kids got
to ride bikes with their friends after the event.

Full size
Jace, Ben, Izzy, Erin, Jackson, Gracie, Henry, Rhys, and Grayson waiting for the parade to start.

Sparky the fire dog showed up.
