Jeff Hemphill and I got some climbing in on the 4th of July "weekend".

We started the trip with a stiff uphill approach (everything at Leavenworth is a stiff uphill approach...)
and headed over to Givler's Crack, a climb I hadn't done before. Here's Jeff before the climb.

The view from the base of Givler's Dome. This is looking across the Icicle Creek Canyon.

Jeff, getting "focused" for the climb. Did I mention my camera is toasted? This will probably be my last
set of pics until I get a new one. The lens is wrecked, the slider will barely open, and the flash finally
went in Spain.

There was a party in front of us who, surprisingly, was worse at crack than I am! Here Jeff lends a foothold
to the second of this party.

Jeff works on his "spotting" skills.

The next day we thought we'd give ourselves a challenge. We decided to try Outer Space on the
Snow Creek Wall. This was the second time I had hiked into the Snow Creek Wall, it cost me a cam
(Thanks Jason Stowers for saving my butt). The Snow Creek Wall is an 800 foot chunk of granite that is
about 1500 vertical feet up the trail. Jeff looks on.

The view from the bottom of the climb. The first and second pitch are mellow.

I didn't take anymore pictures enroute, but I led the 2nd and 4th pitches with Jeff beating down the crux
5.9 finger crack traverse as well as the hand crack to the top. This is Jeff at the top of the Snow Creek Wall.

Jeff takes a break at the top. The trail behind him would take you into the Enchantments area.

A better view of the Snow Creek Wall. The climb we did goes up the white markings on the left of the rock.

After beating ourselves silly on crack with Givler's , Outer Space and even a little bit
more on Straight Street (on Duty Dome area), Jeff STILL wanted more crack practice and so
he put some time in on Classic Crack . I reminded myself yet again that I'm not a crack climber.
