Here are some photos from New Year's covering skiing with Kirk Saban,
opening presents with Natalia, and skiing in Whitefish with Tannis and Dave
and Brian and Annie.

Sunshine with Kirk Saban

Kirk Saban and I carpooled to Sunshine Village on 29 Dec 2008. Here is Kirk's cousin from Wales
and Kirk's cousin's friend with a great view across the Sunshine Meadows.

A little more zoomed in. The Welshmen did surprisingly well at skiing.

My dad made Natalia her favourite wine as well as giving her a nice wine rack to hold it. A
side note here that my dad carried the wine in and out of 4 different houses before finalling
getting to my house. Thanks dad!

Denis picked Natalia in our family secret Santa exchange. He got her a spillproof bag for
her makeup and stuff.

Full size
He also got her this really sweet frame filled with pictures from our trip to Bermuda. Thanks Denis!

My mom found this really nice hand-embroidered Ukrainian cover for Easter baskets.

My parents also found Natalia a cupcake tray for entertaining as well as cherry chocolates.

New Year's in Whitefish, MT

Full size
After a long drive that included a 3 hour layover in Coleman while the road was closed
we finally got to Whitefish. Obviously, the first stop was the grocery store for food and booze.
Both Annie and Natalia were quite enjoyed to see all of the wine at the store. Here, Annie
is showing us how cute the box of single serve wine is.

Dave popped the cork on the champagne and served us all some good times.

Tannis brought some party crackers which contained the wonders of 4 golf pencils, a puzzle, a game,
something else Brian is trying to investigate here, and I got a keychain with flip-flops on it.
The crackers also held the sweet crowns we're all wearing.
From left to right, we have Brian Nicholls, Annie Young, Dave Boisjolie, Tannis Golayets, and Nati.

A great self-portrait of Natalia and I.

In our explorations of Whitefish, we found Jesus. It turns out he was on a blue run. Who knew?
Apparently, the statue was put up by the Knights of Columbus in 1952. This is a photo of
Natalia and Jesus.

While our first two days of skiing were excellent snow, they weren't really photo-friendly.
Our last day saw the sun come out and give us excellent views of the Flathead valley. Here, you
can see Annie, Brian, and multiple snow ghosts as you look out from "Our" run.

Full size
The trees were "pasted" with snow, forming what I would call snow ghosts.

Full size
The snow was definitely nice while we were at Whitefish. They got 5 and a half feet from
Christmas Eve until the time we showed up. Here, Brian is kicking up some big snow coming down
the East Rim area.

Dave, Tannis, Brian, Annie, Natalia, and I at Whitefish Mountain Resort. Thanks to the lady
I convinced to take this photo.

Full size
Natalia loved these trees covered in snow so I took some photos for her.

Full size
Nati loves to ski around things so I took her into the trees. It might have been a little
too tight for her.

We stopped at a dollar store in Whitefish and I found this rooster. This is for the Dehaan's
Rooster Inn as I think it would fit well. The lady at the dollar store said that her roosters
were off limits.
