The kids enjoy camping at Old Macdonald Farm so much, it's now basically become an annual trip
for our family. This year we went again with Erin and Blaine and their kids Gracie, Jackson,
and Isabel.

First we have to start with our boys being in the paper again, this time from last week's Bike Safety Day.
As well, our neighbours the Wilde children also made it too!

Full size
Since the boys were in a camp, Natalia and I took the opportunity to have a breakfast date and go to
Sunnyside Up. This was her excellent eggs benny.

Full size
We had an open Saturday afternoon and decided to get out of the smoke and take the boys bowling.

Full size
Walter liked the bowling apparatus.

Full size
True story - Walter beat all of us with the bowling apparatus.

Full size
On a hot Sunday, I took the boys to Jumpingpound Creek in Bow Meadows and they had a blast.

Full size
Henry says 'This is fun!' Very shallow water, but moving water (not stagnant) means the boys can play
with relatively little oversight and guidance.

Full size
We brought Henry's friend Rhys, who also enjoyed the outing to the creek.

Full size
Walter and Grayson also enjoyed playing in the creek too.

Full size
While we'd pretty much never camp here without kids, it's a fun time for them so that's why we keep
coming back. Here's a decent campsite (#234) with a fair amount of space.

Gracie and Henry got to ride the Double Dime!

A tractor, dressed up as a train pulling a wagon is good for ~$4 a ride.

Full size
Gracie had picked up a new floaty toy which she and Henry were playing with.

Full size
Walter is a big fan of digging and playing in the sand.

Full size
A favourite game this year was make a canal from the beach to the lake and then protect its banks with
higher and higher walls. That continues until one of them crushes the walls or puts too much water into it.

Full size
One of the kid-friendly draws to this place is ice cream at the beach, as Walter is demonstrating here.

Full size
Waiting in line for the carousel ride. It costs 25 cents and you get your quarter back if you successfully
throw your shoe/sandal/hat into the box at speed. I took this photo since Gracie and Henry were holding hands.

Here's the happy winner with his quarter in his hand!

Full size
Erin and Izzy took a ride on the carousel too.

Full size
Erin was so thrilled she got her flip flop into the box, but Izzy wasn't pleased.

Full size
Natalia and Walter chilling out after Natalia got her sandal into the box. Again, it's a small lawn mower
engine driving an old carousel, but the kids love it.

Full size
Henry and Gracie watching their siblings ride the carousel.

Full size
One of the other big draws to this place is the candy store. That's three tubes full of 'Pucker Powder' sugar
that the kids are crushing before bedtime.

Full size
After the smaller kids were in bed, Henry and Gracie got to make smores.

Henry and his smore.

Gracie and Henry enjoying not going to be early.

Full size
Jackson found a caterpillar that was fuzzy and he held it and walked it around for awhile. I'd comment
on the incredibly short shirt he's wearing here, but it just means he's growing quicker than his Mom is
changing out his clothes.

Full size
Jackson and Walter got to drive their own gokarts on this trip, which they were pretty stoked about.

Full size
Walter couldn't quite generate enough power on this kart, but he NEEDED to do it since Jackson was. So that
meant Daddy had to basically push him around the campground.

Full size
Henry and Gracie rode a tandem gokart and they did really well together.

Full size
Walter was so jacked he got to sit in the Triple Nickel, even though he didn't get to ride on it.

Full size
So, there's ice cream at the beach AND at Grandma's kitchen. Big time winning!

Full size
This is 'Crash', or 'Road Rash' displaying her scars after she tried to bunny hop like her husband
over a speed bump and then crushed her front brake and went over the bars. Good thing her forearms blocked
her forward progress!

Full size
This is the definition of awesome car camping.

Full size
I took Henry to try fishing from the dock as the wildfire-affected sun was dropping.

Full size
Slightly better photo.

Full size
The area we're camping in has been created (or expanded) through pumping water from the Red Deer River.

Full size
Walter and Izzy also played really well in the sand.

Full size
Walter got runts from the candy store and he thought he won the lottery.

Do you think Walter got enough blue sugar?
