Natalia decided she needed a vacation, so she went with my mom to Cancun and left Henry
and I to fend for ourselves. Here are some photos from our week together, along with
some photos and videos from his birthday and others too.

Daddy and Henry's week of fun

Full size
One of Henry's new favourite passtimes is to play in the kitchen sink with bubbles and an ice cream
scoop. No, I don't understand it, but it makes me laugh (and it fills the floor with water).

Video of Henry dancing with Charlotte and Gavin

Full size
I took Henry to go buy a helmet at Canadian Tire, but he was far more interested in the Barbie motorized
car so I had to take it down off the rack so he could sit in it.

Full size
Yeah, not super manly, but he thought it was fun.

Full size
He also liked the bikes, which bodes well.

Full size
Although this one has more tassles than I'd like.

Full size
Henry and I went to the zoo since we tried going to the Science Centre and it was closed for a private event.
Good thing the zoo is next door. He's started to like fish as well.

Full size
Back at the Science Centre, he enjoys playing with water and compressed air.

Full size
Here he is at the water table.

Video of Henry at the water table

Full size
More water table fun.

Full size
Here he's dumping in a 'half-moon' and letting it go.

Full size
This is the other side of the water wheel generators. Look how intense he is.

Full size
Once I finally get Henry's mitts onto him and he stops screaming about it, he loves the fact that he can
play in the snow without his hands getting cold.

Full size
Here he is carting snow around our yard.

Full size
I can't get enough of this picture as it looks like he's sitting on the throne reading the paper.

Full size
Henry's been enrolled in gymnastics this fall. Even though it's more like tumble and try to control your child,
Henry has loved it. Thanks to coach Colette and Andrew, Henry earned his first certficate!

Full size
Natalia's brother Eric came for a visit and we worked out on my climbing wall.

Full size
Here's Eric working a new route we set.

Full size
Henry playing in the ball pit at Joso's indoor playpark.

Full size
He liked the plasma cars although he hasn't totally sorted out how to go fast yet.

Full size
He looks to be having fun here.

Full size
We went on a road trip to Red Deer. Here's Henry at the door making sure I don't forget his DVD player.

Full size
The Treehouse in Red Deer is a hit with Henry. Here he is rocking out the arcade games.

Full size
Henry and Kale playing with the drums.

Full size
Henry, Kale, and Landon playing drums, even though the game isn't turned on.

Full size
Henry likes the part of the Treehouse where there's a big area for shooting balls out of cannons or
blasting them up an air tube.

Full size
Miss Grace chilling out on her couch.

Full size
Henry also thinks Grace's couch is a hit.

Full size
I think this was the first time that Henry ate a dilly bar to himself.

Full size
Henry and Aunty Renee before leaving Red Deer. This was literally the only time that Henry actually
wore this reindeer hat we made in crafts at the Treehouse.

Full size
Grace and Henry and aunty Renee before leaving. Grace's pyjamas are pretty cute.

Full size
I decided that if Henry and I were spending the week, he had to try something new. Why not skating?
It turns out that he really liked the skates.

Full size
But he hated the helmet.

Full size
On the bench. Still hating his helmet.

COP Vert 180 race

Full size
I decided to do the Vert 180 this year, although I thought I'd push myself to do it myself rather than
with a partner. Here's the course lit up.

Full size
Selfie before starting. We had to have a helmet and a backpack. It turns out that I'm slower on the uptrack,
slower in transitions, but no issue with speed on the downhill.

Full size
While Henry and I were hanging out, this is what Mommy was doing. Good living!

Misc photos Dec 2015

Full size
Here's Henry rocking out a trike at Walmart. He seems to like tassles.

Full size
Since I think big toys are obnoxious, I made Henry a 'train table' from a cardboard box. He still loves it.

Full size
This is possibly the coolest fortune cookie I've ever seen. Found by Crazy Carl in Boston.

Whiskey and meat night

Full size
I joined the Brown Brothers for their semi-regular whiskey night. Note the assortment of wonderful
whiskeys, scotches, bourbons, ryes on display.

Full size
The other beauty of the night is some seriously great game. This is a moose heart at the top right
along with an elk roast. Yummy!

Full size
Yes Mom, we even had some vegetables! The caribou was my favourite, but the beef Goulash was stellar too.

Full size
This makes me very happy.

Full size
I finally completed a Rubiks cube! Yes, it only took me 30+ years to do it!

Full size
We took Henry cross-country skiing for his first time. Although, really, he rode in the backpack, so
he hasn't totally tried it yet. I think his bear toque is pretty sweet.

Full size
He called my ski poles 'hockey sticks'.

Full size
Henry riding in the backpack and enjoying it.

Full size
The trails at West Bragg Creek merit a tour if you haven't been there. Here's Natalia killing it behind us.

Henry's second birthday

Video of Henry with his new balloons

Full size
Aunty Danielle decided to come up with Landon and Kale to celebrate Henry's birthday. First they went to the
science centre, and then napped from playing so hard. Aunty Danielle made not just a cake, but cupcakes too.

Full size
Henry is fascinated with numbers lately. Here he is calling out the '2' on his cupcake.

Full size
Natalia had some balloons added to the party since Henry's been reading 'If you give a pig a party'. When
Natalia asked him what he was going to get for his birthday, he said 'BALLOONS!'.

Full size
Check out how sweet this cake is that Danielle made for Henry!

Full size
Natalia tried to take a 2 year birthday photo of Henry with his balloon. He doesn't sit well these days.

Henry having fun with helium balloons

Full size
Yes, Natalia put a cake on our carpet.

Full size
When you ask Henry how old he is, he puts his two forefingers together and says 'TWO'.

Full size
Henry pointing at the train.

Full size
Danielle got Henry this building set and he seemed to like being inside of it. He said
'Mouse House' since that's what we make with blocks. Pretty funny.

Landon singing Happy Birthday to Henry

Full size
Our neighbours came by also and brought him a sweet car track (THAT ROLLS UP!)

Full size
Henry eating both cupcake AND cake at the same time.

Full size
Henry's cousin Kale is a messy eater to say the least. But at least he eats veggies, which Henry does not.
