My neighbour Dave and his son Kyle joined me for a tour at Taylor Lake on a chilly,
but clear Saturday morning.

Here are Dave and Kyle, after I repaired Kyle blister-damaged feet. Kyle, I think you should give
your boots to your dad. They clearly don't fit. This is at a meadow just above the actual lake
after about two hours of uphill touring.

This was the first look at our target once we got down to the lake. For future reference,
turn left off the trail to get up to the lake, rather than up the drainage towards the ridge.

Full size
Since we wound up a touch high above the lake, we had to drop some elevation through the trees.
This is just before we dropped to the lake.

It was a bit chilly pretty much all day. What a nice look at Castle Mountain across the lake.

Full size
I think this is Panorama Ridge. It looks like there's some decent ski lines up here for sure,
although there's some serious avalanche terrain.

Full size
At the end of the lake, the uptrack goes through some challenging rocky terrain, but then gets up to
this moraine that skied really well.

Full size
You can see the full path of this couloir from the top of the moraine.

Full size
I think at the back of this photo is a pass that brings you to Boom Lake. Here's Dave
climbing up to where I'm at.

Looking back out at the Bow Valley.

I will ski this couloir top to bottom at some point. Just not today.

A look-around at Taylor Lake

Kyle after we crossed the lake heading home. I think the lake is pretty close to the same length
as Lake Louise, so this isn't that much different in touring length to skiing Surprise Pass.

Some data from our day.

A map of our tour. Note the divergence when we went too far up the drainage.

Elevation and speed for the day.

And just for good measure, here's a photo of Henry making a block tower.
