Here are some photos from Natalia and my mom pickling in PA and our friends in Calgary out
for a fun raft on the Bow.
2nd annual pickling extravaganza
In August 2011, Natalia wanted to go back to PA for the 2nd annual pickling extravaganza with my mom. This
year's affair also added a wiener roast and making homemade ice cream. Look at the smile on Natalia's face!

The result of the pickling party. There are mustard pickles, pickled carrots, pickled cucumbers, and pickled beets.
The homemade ice cream takes some time to crank and make.

Natalia says, "Yes, I love making pickles with Gerri!"
Pickles get Natalia's stamp of approval.
The tasty result of cranking for 20 minutes.

Yes, that's right kids - ice cream and pie for breakfast!
Natalia's first rafting trip down the Bow
A fortuitous mix of circumstances meant that Natalia and I were home on a nice weekend in August and
we also found a few friends who wanted to raft as well. This led us to be on the Bow River in Calgary
pumping up our rental raft. Kurt and Jeanna and Jenn are taking a turn on the pumps.
