Weeks 4 through 7 of quarantine at least saw the weather improve as we slowly made our way
from 2-3 foot snow mounds and into spring finally. Here are photos and videos of the boys
as they still managed to have a blast every day.

April marked Walter deciding that he wanted to try underwear. So, boom, one day and he's potty trained.
He was so excited to be just like his brother wearing underwear that once he decided to do it, it was done.

Henry got an Easter chick chocolate in the mail from Grandma G and was jacked.
Full size
Walter likes his underwear so much, he climbs in them (and using Henry's old shoes too!)
Walter running around in climbing shoes

To thank our local EMS they did a little tour into our neighbourhood. We came out, made a sign, and made
lots of noise to say thanks. The boys loved banging pot tops.

Henry and Walter got to ice their own cookies.

He couldn't sit still from plugging his face with sprinkles.

Walter climbing in his housecoat since he's cool like that.
Doing laps on their bikes

Natalia cut all of our hair and this was her before and after photo of the boys. She did an awesome
job honestly - I can't imagine making them sit still long enough to cut their hair. Thankfully it
was a warm day so she had them on a chair on the front porch.
Full size
Pretty excited to get their candy baskets.
Full size
I don't know what Henry's look is here (or Walter for that matter), but they're on the stairs with
their Easter baskets, in Christmas jammies.

Jumping in puddles

We realized the boys hadn't even been in the car in ~4 weeks so we decided to have a burger party in the
car and went through the McDonald's drive-thru, just to avoid another Groundhog Day.

Killing it with popsicles with the last of the snow melting.

This is what socially distanced play over the deck looks like with the neighbour girl.

Henry gives a big thumbs up to homemade burgers on the deck.
Full size
Walter does too, but still can't quite do the thumbs-up yet.

Our scare-owl (Henry calls him Brownies) wearing Henry's cowboy hat.

Even though it wasn't really warm, the boys were jacked to pull out the water table. After they froze
for awhile, we sat in the hot tub and warmed up.

This may have been one of my more proud Family Science Moments - Walter with a magnifying glass
observing fresh crocuses poke through the ground.
But he still loves bubbles more

Best Happy Birthday to Janet

Our boys LOVE playing with water and sprayers the best. Look at Walter's face here.

SOOOO Excited to go use their Stomp Rocket

Natalia ordered the boys kites which happened to also get tried on Walter's birthday too.

Walter was VERY excited to receive the mail on this day.
Walter opening Aunty Sus' card - wait for the giggles on 'Purrfect'

Again, Natalia made an amazing cake for Walter's birthday. This time a monster truck cake. When I later
asked Walter his favourite part of his birthday he said without hesitation, "MINE CAKE!".
Full size
I found that funny since he really just ate the icing and the candy, but it's memorable to him.
Full size
Walter with his birthday balloons. Big kudos to Natalia for stalking and finding a place for helium
balloons in the middle of a pandemic.
Full size
Walter and Henry playing with Walter's new puppets from Janet and Rick.

Later that evening, we had a real treat. Natalia coordinated the Cochrane Jeepers Club to do a drive-by
Happy Birthday parade with horns and Walter was jacked. The big deal here is that Natalia had
bought a giant box of giant Freezies and passed them around to all of the kids.

Henry and Walter in Crazy Carl's backyard chilling with the Sasquatch. What, you don't have an 8 foot
wooden sasquatch bolted to your back yard??
Full size
The kids decided they wanted to wash cars, so we kept lining up cars and they kept washing. Child labour
sure, but much more importantly, it was good for over an hour of activities!

You can still find fresh snow in mid April.
Full size
A bit sticky for sure, but better than no skiing, and definitely more fun than riding a trainer!
3 weeks straight I got out here for a short tour - it might be something I do more of next year.
