Photos from Canada Day, RVing, visiting Sask, and hanging out in Cochrane, July 2018.
Apologies as this is a bit of a long post.
Canada Day with Mommy
Full size
Natalia took the boys to the Cochrane Canada Day festivities on the bus from Sunset. I think the boys were
as much excited about the bus ride as they were everything else.
Full size
Some of the games at the event were well-suited for small children. Here's Henry with his flag/cape playing
minigolf.
Full size
Any day Henry gets a popsicle is a good day.
Full size
I think this photo of Walter with the hula hoop is hilarious.
Henry's friend Ty for a visit
Full size
Henry's friend Ty stayed with us overnight while his parents had a new baby. Here are Ty and Henry getting
ready to go outside for a rocket launch. Yes, rocket launches are better with your PJs on.

Getting ready for rocket launch - safety first!

Ty, Henry, and Walter waving to the garbage truck - a big day!
Full size
Henry and Ty having a cake pop together.

Henry and Walter going down the slide together.
Full size
Walter is really starting to enjoy slides.

We had our friends Graham and Kayla and their son Fisher over for dinner and they brought a fondue!
Here's our family destroying the fondue (the boys went nuts over it).
RV camping at Gull Lake, AB
Full size
Our neighbours invited us to join their glamping so we rented an RV and had it deposited on our site.
This is the inside of the insanely large RV we had for the weekend.
Full size
A better look at it. Yowza! Imagine pulling that thing! Note the outdoor kitchen though, which I think
is pretty rad and has a bar in it!
Full size
Emilia, Henry, and N at Gull Lake all trying to get into the stroller.
Full size
We drove to Saskatchewan for my aunty Eileen and uncle Bill's 50th wedding anniversary party. We stopped
at Carl's place for a visit and the boys had popsicles!
Full size
Henry LOVES playing with his cousins and he was pretty excited to get to play with Grace. Here he is with
some of Grandma G's leis in the basement.
Full size
My aunt and uncle basically put on a second wedding. They had over 100 guests, rented a huge tent, and put
on a serious BBQ and party, complete with program. See the tent here.
Full size
My mom and aunty Deb organized a scavenger hunt for the kids. Here they are getting instructions here.

Full size
My brother and cousin Dion BBQing burgers.
Full size
The kids were excited to watch Kenny feed a baby calf by bottle.
Full size
The kids basically trying to destroy my aunty Eileen's swing. They had 10 of them on there at one point.
Full size
Landon in his new glasses hanging with Henry.
Full size
My cousin Leanne took the kids for a tour on the quad pulling a trailer. Henry thought it was pretty neat.
Full size
Initially I gave my Mom a hard time for bringing gunny sack races, but the kids LOVED it!

My mom was pretty excited that they had a midnight lunch with buns and cold cuts!

Waskesiu
Full size
Since we had so much fun last year, we decided to go back to Waskesiu and stay at the Armstrong-Hillcrest cabins (AA).
Henry is showing me his ring pop that he discovered after actually lights up. Check out the size of the
whitecaps when we arrived.
Full size
Natalia and Walter on a swing. I love the smile on this little guy.
Full size
The family loving having ice cream from the Big Olaf.
Walter eating ice cream like a boss
Full size
Walter thought the passive vacuum was super rad and got a kick out of it.
Full size
So, this trip Henry really discovered fishing. He can't get enough of it, even without a hook on his line.
Full size
We caught exactly nothing from the dock, but Henry enjoyed throwing his plastic fish in the water and practicing
casting.
Full size
Henry and a random kid on the teeter-totter at Waskesiu Beach. This playground is actually world-class and the
kids LOVED it!
Full size
The new mini-golf course was a hit with Henry. They have different colours of turf, some neat holes, and just
generally a fun time.
Full size
We totally stepped up our pork chop night by picking up (what I would describe as) the BEST SPRING ROLLS EVER
from Asian Station in Waskesiu.
Full size
We took a quadracycle for a family ride around town.
Full size
For some reason, Henry wanted to grab his cowboy hat on the way out the door, so he did. Here's
our little cowboy at Solstice Berry Farm.
Full size
This operation is PERFECT for children - it's well-maintained, flat enough for a stroller, and the
bushes are dense enough that the toddlers can't get out of the rows!
Full size
Henry loved picking berries, but he didn't understand the U-pick idea that you can eat what you want
while you're picking - "I'll eat them in the car Daddy!".
Full size
We met up with Rhys and his parents for an evening Calaway Park session. After 4pm, there are WAY fewer
people there, less meltdowns, and smaller line-ups. The boys know to do the safety check! This was
Rhys' first time on the mini roller coaster.
Full size
After Calaway Park, Henry declared it a 'Daddy Henry special supper' and we had to go to Wendy's.
He ate his burger like a big boy and we had a picnic at the train park.
Henry on a bumper car
Full size
Walter decided he needed more safety running around the house with a snack.
Saskatoon for Olson's wedding
Full size
We had a play date at my friends Lane and Tasha's back yard. Henry and Walter got to drive around together
on the boys' quad.
Full size
Walter thought their pink quad was pretty rad since he could almost reach the pedals. That's Calem showing
Walter the way.
Full size
Henry and Grandma Banda out for a ride on her walker.
Full size
Henry got scared of the old people waiting for supper and so Natalia had to stick Walter in the front of the
walker so Henry couldn't see them.
