Hallowe'en with the boys and spending time with my Mom in Oct-Nov 2021.

Here is Henry reading the colour comics from the Saskatoon Star-Phoenix that my Mom's friend cuts out.

I saw this on a customer's cubicle wall in Vancouver and thought it was awesome.

Henry's school did a Zoom Hallowe'en parade that we got to watch

1 cm of snow IS enough to toboggan!

And now Walter tries it too

Full size
Carving pumpkins at our house. While Natalia and the boys DID grow a pumpkin, they also bought a couple.

Full size
Henry working on cleaning out the pumpkins.

Full size
Neither boy was a super fan of the goo inside the pumpkin, but here's Henry working on it.

Full size
I think this was Walter's choice for jack o lantern.

Some pretty sweet neighbourhood jack o lanterns on our block. Check out the faces!

Gorgeous sunrise as I'm walking Henry to the bus one morning.

Full size
Walter and Daddy go skating. This session confirmed to me that Walter wanted to learn to skate more.
Right after this session, I enrolled him in pre-CanSkate, which he promptly rocked.

Full size
Watching the Zamboni while eating a snack is a big highlight for Walter.

Full size
Erin and her daughter Nora trying out the Tow-Whee at Buffalo Bean on a warm fall day.

Full size
Walter didn't quite ride his bike here but he did enjoy running the trails and zipping around. Partial win.

Full size

Full size
I took the boys for a bike ride at the Glenbow Ranch PP with their friends Rhys and Stacey. This was
the first time I tried to use a Tow-Whee for Walter and it was a big success!

Full size
Walter and I with the Tow-Whee.

Full size
Walter did great on the flats and thought the Tow-Whee was a total hoot as it effectively flattened the hills for him.

Full size
Walter and Henry biking on an unusually warm fall day with no snow.

Full size
Walter getting towed by the Tow-Whee. Thanks to Mike at Kids Bike Canada for this sweet tool!

Full size
I made homemade burgers and mashed celeriac, which was quite good. I also tried sweet potatoes in the
rotisserie on the grill. The short answer is that I likely still need to precook the sweet potato fries.

Grandma G comes to visit

Full size
The boys hadn't been to the airport in almost two years so we made a trip of it to go pick up Grandma G.
They were fascinated by the luggage carousel.

Full size
We took a walk at the Big Hill Springs PP and the boys loved the new trail work here. This is a cool
new bridge.

Full size

Made better with peppercorn gravy, and homemade horseradish (thank you Mom!).

Emerald Lake Lodge

Full size
With my Mom visiting, we popped out for a date night out to Emerald Lake Lodge. This is the view across
open water at Emerald Lake looking up to Michael Peak and the President in behind it.

Full size
Natalia and I thought that the skiing would be okay, but it definitely was too crunchy and icy. So instead
we went for a walk with skis on my pack instead.

Full size
Very crunchy snow, but fun to go for an explore just the same.

Full size
Natalia with a nice vodka gimlet cocktail.

Full size
A gorgeous lady with a lovely scallop appy.

Full size
Natalia had chicken with gnocchi and I had the lamb.

Full size
Not a bad view to wake up to after a bottle of wine and a fire in our wood fireplace. Side note here is
that Natalia is better at making fires than I am. It took a bit of work to dry out the wood from the
monsoon rains here. This rain event will be known as the November 15 rain crust in the snowpack this year.

Full size
Natalia and a nice view up to Wapta Mountain.

Full size
Emerald Slide Path still needs more snow.

Full size
1-2 inch rain crust. Yuck!

Full size

Full size
This is at the Natural Bridge in Yoho NP.

Full size
We popped by Maria's office to bring her a coffee and say hello.

Full size
Then we came home to have a charcuterie dinner with my Mom.
