I became the fifth wheel for Louis, Jeanna, Dirk, and Pauline, and got to ski one of my favourite
runs in the Rockies along with a run that Louis and I have been eyeballing for a while now as a bonus.

Uptracking through the tree triangle. On this trip, I was reminded (again) why blue loctite is a crucial piece of kit as I
lost another piece of hardware on the uptrack. Thankfully it wasn't the main buckle and was only the ankle buckle. If you
zoom in, you can just see the ankle strap hanging in the snow here.

A look up to Hero's Knob, but first we wanted to try something else.

After fighting the snow that would be fine for uptracking, and then sliding out from under us, Louis
resorted to a boot pack sequence up some rocks, and finally just pushed through to the other side.

We decided to take a lap on Hero's since we were already most of the way there. The bowl below the knob
got a little bit slippery and we had to boot pack the last bit.

apparently uptracking the slope to the right of it.

After having a break for snacks, we made our way back to the car via a ~2km ski out along the road. For future
notes, if you bring two cars, we should do a car shuttle.
